Patiently waiting for Adobe to release a beta or a new update for Lightroom 3 to handle RAW files from the Lumix G3. Because it’s annoying when you have to replace software that costs money with free software to continue your workflow.

New camera incoming! But it wasn’t without a hurdle. The Lumix G3, pictured above, was the camera I intended on buying as an upgrade to my GF1. Though, a lot of Australian stores, online mostly, don’t bloody have any available. It was released a month or two ago, but every store I checked with didn’t have it and their shipments were still “on the way.” After much debate, since I wanted it before my trip to Japan, I decided on the Lumix GH2, the more expensive older brother of the newer G3, which has been out since last year. Shouldn’t be a problem finding one of those, right? Actually, I couldn’t find one of those either. They’re out of make, and are running out everywhere due to how popular they are. I actually put one on order through a website after checking they had stock. I asked through the store’s live chat service, where I was told that they “should definitely have stock.”I double checked, trying to get them to absolutely clarify that they had some on hand, as I was about to purchase one on the spot. Yes yes, they’re in stock. We await your order. Righto, money spent. It was actually right before watching the new Harry Potter movie the next day that I received a phone call from the store saying they were actually out of stock and it was an error in their stocktake. *SIIIIGH* But luckily, they did have a Lumix G3 available and I asked them to refund me the difference and send that one to me. All is well I guess… after talking myself into getting the slightly superior GH2, I had to calm myself after a brief hit of stress to convince myself that getting the G3 was fine, since it was what I wanted in the first place.
